Dr. Sheri Lindner is currently the Associate Editor of Jewish Women’s Literary Annual.
She studied at Richmond College in London, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Washington University with majors in English and Education. She received an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Illinois, where she taught writing, and explored the work of Scottish poet Edwin Muir. After teaching high school English for 6 years, during which time she also taught psychology, and was a co-director of an alternative high school, she obtained an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University in Brooklyn.
For over 20 years, Dr. Lindner was a psychologist at an elementary school in Manhasset, NY, a consultant at several nursery schools, and continues to maintain a private practice. She trains and supervises psychology interns, and has lectured widely in the area of child development.
A poet and essayist, her literary and psychology backgrounds converge in her prolific works of Biblical interpretation, d’vrei Torah, and midrash. Her writing has appeared in many publications including: The Reconstructionist, Reconstructionism Today, Jewish Currents, Kerem, Poetica, Performance Poet’s Literary Review, Matzoh Ball Soup, Jewish Women’s Literary Annual, Nassau County Poet Laureate Society Anthology, Journey of the Heart: An Anthology of Women’s Spiritual Poetry, and The New York Times. In 2012, she received Honorable Mention in the first annual Nassau County Poet Laureate Society poetry contest, and in 2013, was awarded First Place in the second annual Nassau County Poet Laureate Society poetry contest. Her collection of works, entitled, Opening Eden’s Gate, was published by Northshire Press. Of this collection, one reviewer wrote:

Several of Lindner’s poems have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She has delivered poetry readings in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, Port Washington, NY, Manhasset, NY, and New York City.
An active member of the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore, Dr. Lindner has been on the Board of Trustees, been President of the congregation, and sings in the choir. She has also served on the board of the Port Washington Children’s Center. The Federation of Reconstructionist Congregations and Havurot honored her as being a person of vision, for contributions in the area of conceptualizing, designing, and supervising the implementation of alternatives in religious education. UJA-Federation New York also recognized her for devotion to the Jewish People expressed through leadership, enthusiasm, and unceasing commitment.
Dr. Lindner lives in Port Washington with her husband of 44 years. They have two children, one grandson, and a granddaughter on the way.
